Meeting with you and your family to discuss and review the current situation, providing information and recommendations including aged care fees and charges, options for care at home and accommodation, legal and finance documents, lifestyle options and care and, if required, referral to specialist aged care financial adviser.

Finding the right residential accommodation for you or your loved one. There are three levels of service, depending on how much you would like to do yourself ranging from a list of suitable facilities in your area through to a comprehensive service in which we negotiate the fees on your behalf and provide advice on the contract.

Elderly-Breakfast

Organising the best and most cost effective support and assistance at home so that you or your loved one can remain safe and independent for as long as possible. We also offer a Home Safety Service that includes coordination of occupational therapists and safety equipment assessment and installation.

Other services such as preparation of documents, negotiations bonds or advice on specific aged care issues and matters is available at either a fixed cost or hourly rate depending on the service. Expertise covers legal and finance documents and a range of implementation services.

Sara Cook
RN, Grad Dip Comm Nurs, Master Bus Mgt Director

Sara combines business and nursing qualifications with 13 years’ experience working in aged care and 30 years in the healthcare sector.

Sara’s understanding of the aged care environment provides her with skills to guide families through the decision-making processes related to aging.

In Sara’s experience, many aged persons are forced into making hasty decisions after suffering an acute episode and this results in unsatisfactory compromises in how they would like to spend the later part of their lives.

Margaret Harrison
LL.B B.Juris, GAICD
Director

Margaret practiced as a lawyer for more than 20 years in private practice and as a corporate lawyer in a major Australian Bank. Her legal expertise covers financial services and wealth management, dispute resolution, testator family maintenance, trust and probate law. Most recently, Margaret spent five years on the executive team of ANZ Wealth Management Division as its Head of Risk.

Her personal experience with her own elderly and frail parents led her to establish Signpost in 2012 when she was unable to find a person who could help her understand the available aged care options and assist with appropriate care.

She has applied her skills to creating a new aged care service, providing high quality aged care advice and solutions. Margaret is also a former Director and current Member of the Advisory Committee of non-profit organisation Social Firms Australia.
